On July 13, 2021, a group of volunteers undertook the cleaning up of the area of the Jewish cemetery in Mielec, Traugutt Street, for the third time this year. The victims of the Holocaust are buried at that cemetery. An important step was to obtain a permit to cut down the tree, which, as its roots grew into the fence, made it impossible to open the cemetery gate. Eventually, the tree was removed, the lock was replaced and the main entrance to the cemetery can be used again. Moreover, some of the greenery in the cemetery was cut out and a few tombstones were cleaned. The next stage of the works will be to place an information board on the fence of the cemetery.
