The great spring clean-up at the Jewish cemetery in Czechowice-Dziedzice turned out to be a great organizational success. Among the numerous volunteers there were students and teachers from the Maria Skłodowska-Curie High School and Primary School No. 7, parents of some of the students, and volunteers from Czechowice-Dziedzice, Pszczyna and Oświęcim – over 60 people in total.
Many hours of hard work brought results that exceeded the expectations of the organizer of the action, Sławomir Pastuszka. At the cemetery, hundreds of branches were sorted and thrown into the chipper, the containers were filled to the brim with debris and green waste, and a number of tombstones in the burial quarters were cleaned.
The effects of volunteers’ work, visible to the naked eye, encourage next groups of people to take action. The upcoming clean-up action of the Jewish cemetery in Czechowice-Dziedzice is scheduled for the first half of June.
